Helena and Rick matched on Hinge on January 26th, 2023. Anyone that’s experienced online dating knows you can’t judge a person by their online dating profile… however Rick had a gut feeling that this one was special.

They first met on a Sunday morning at Agora coffee shop. Helena chose a comfy couch in a cozy corner where they would chat for hours about family, hobbies, values and their love for nature and travel. Helena and Rick felt as if they were the only two in that buzzing cafe.

Second date was over a big bowl of ramen followed by a trip to Tiny Champion’s for an ooey gooey cookie – the 2nd best cookie in Houston behind Helena’s very own.

At this point it was full hearts ahead. In a matter of months, they moved in together, adopted Scottie, shared many travels, and made a house a home. On October 19th, 2024, Rick invited Helena to an evening picnic in a familiar location. This is where he asked for her hand in marriage and where the next chapter of their story begins…
